Nun Leaves Convent Only For PopeNun Leaves Convent Only For Pope, In 1927, Sister Teresa took her vows, devoted her life to Christ, and stood behind the walls of the Sistalin Buenafuente, north of Madrid. She was 19.

Now, at the age of 103, which eventually will leave the convent to attend the World Youth Day in Madrid and meet with Pope Benedict XVI, reports Telegraph. The only time she left her convent in the span of 84 years was to escape the fighting during the Spanish Civil War.

“She said she thinks will make the journey with eyes closed, so nothing distracts you,” the superior of the convent’s mother, Maria.
