Norv Turner Fires Back At Rex Ryan

Earlier, on Wednesday afternoon, Jets coach Rex Ryan San Diego told the media that if he had become the head coach in 2007, the franchise that has two Super Bowl rings by now.
Turner, the man given the job, had its usual subtle smile while standing on the podium. Ryan confirmed that he called earlier, according to reports to clarify that the comments are not meant as a snub to Turner.
“It was really between him and me,” said Turner, of the conversation. “I think we had enough drama coach in the league in recent days. We do not need more.”
So – shoot, why not? – Turner stirring the pot with the boisterous Jets coach.
“I had not seen the quote, I was a little surprised when he called,” said Turner. “And then, after seeing the appointment, I had the opportunity to ask this, but I wondered if I had the rings with which it is secured over the last couple of years.”
All clothing, players were unanimous, if a little careful with his words when asked about Ryan’s comments.
“Because a man is sure if that’s your opinion, then fine,” said outside linebacker Shaun Phillips. “But that’s not the case. Do not get the job, so there is nothing negative to say about it. Everyone is allowed to have an opinion, and I can not mad about the boy to have an opinion.
“We’re behind our coach? Yes We love coach Norv? Yes Do we want another coach? The bottom line is No. I have no problem with what he said because that is allowed to have an opinion. ”
The fullback Jacob Hester Super Bowl commentary said Ryan “does not make much sense.”
“He has no Super Bowl rings does not, either,” said Hester. “You can not get into that sort of thing. Obviously, Norv is here for a reason. Norv has done a hell of a job here. We are not concerned about things like that.”
Maybe the nose tackle Antonio Garay said it best.
He sat quietly in a chair facing his locker, raising his right hand and slowly brushing the top of his face. Then exhale a sigh low.
“Write that down,” said Garay.
