Nokia Microsoft, Nokia announced today the appointment of Chris Weber as President of Nokia Inc. (USA), and Head of Markets, North America, 11 February 2011. Chris Weber comes to Nokia’s own business consulting to help companies develop world-class sales culture. He is a veteran of Microsoft, who during his 16 years with the company has held several executive positions in sales, marketing and professional services. Among its key roles were Vice-President of Microsoft corporate America’s leading companies and partners of the Group and the position of the U.S. National EPG Sales Excellence and Industry Organization.
“Today, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop outlined the new strategic direction for Nokia, including plans for a broad strategic partnership with Microsoft to build a new global mobile ecosystem, and reiterated its commitment to improving the position of Nokia North America. “With the new strategy in place, I think Chris brings to the team an excellent combination of well-developed leadership skills, extensive sales and marketing experience and strong consumer insights. Experience Chris will be invaluable in helping us implement our strategy new ecosystem on the market, “said Colin Giles, Vice President, Sales, Nokia.
Chris Weber commented on Nokia’s new position. “I am very happy to be part of the team from Nokia at this time of change and incredible opportunity new strategy Nokia will open up new possibilities, and we look forward to meeting and exceeding our customers expectations in this market. We will work relentlessly to earn the trust of our customers and the heart of consumers. ”
Mark Louison, the current president of Nokia Inc., Nokia has decided to leave and pursue new opportunities. Colin Giles remarked on this change earlier today, saying: “I thank Mark for his dedication and passion over the years and wish him every success in his future endeavors.”
This change is effective today, February 11, 2011.
