Nike Foamposite Galaxy, After hours of waiting in line, hundreds of people, who camped outside of Prince George’s Plaza Mall for Nike’s newest Foamposite sneakers, were told the release was canceled.  Early Friday morning, police announced that Friday’s release of the Nike Foamposite Galaxy shoe was canceled due to safety concerns with the huge crowd.

The price is listed at $220. Officers say another release date would be announced at a later time.  Despite the news of the cancellation, as of 5:50 a.m., long lines remain outside of the mall.

ABC7 News reports that the crowds are growing larger and more impatient. A man was reportedly detained and cited for disorderly conduct.

A store manager is expected to address the crowd shortly, ABC7 News reports.

The coveted kicks are reportedly being sold on Ebay and Craigslist for as high as $2,400.

Urban apparel store DTLR said via twitter that they will have the Galaxy Foams on Feb. 25 in their Minnesota Avenue, D.C. and Mondawmin Mall in Baltimore locations when the stores opens at 8a.m.
