NH Unemployment:New Hampshire, John Lynch, the governor has signed a law allowing companies to scale down operations without laying off workers.
The New Hampshire Work “law allows companies and their workers to accept reduced hours rather than layoffs. The state part of the wages lost through unemployment benefits.
Lynch signed the bill on Tuesday.
The law is designed to reduce the demand for unemployment benefits and keep workers eligible for employer health benefits.
The new law also doubles the state Employment Training Fund to $ 2 million a year in 2011 and allows the Department of Employment Security to utilize those funds to train unemployed workers.
