Network SolutionsNetwork Solutions, Verizon Business in the second quarter continued to roll out high-performance solutions that enable global multinational corporations, medium companies and governments to take advantage of cloud-based delivery of key IT resources and applications. These include new information based on the cloud, data storage, security, enterprise mobility and unified communications features, as well as key industry-specific IT and consulting services.

The company continued to invest aggressively in the network and technology infrastructure to offer cloud solutions to their global customer base, including the opening of a second data center in Hong Kong and significantly expanding the capacity of its data centers.

Customers responded to these moves, the company of major trading firm in all segments during the quarter. Multinational companies, including CA technologies, First Data Corporation, Hewitt Associates LLC and Rent-A-Center concluded new agreements to expand its relationship with Verizon Business for a wide range of advanced communications and information technology. A new cloud-based managed security-as-a-service portfolio that provides businesses the ability to quickly and easily add robust security services and avoid purchasing expensive equipment. The service allows customers to quickly and easily secure new sites with the latest security technology through a centralized management console allows real-time provisioning and management.

An innovative, the cloud-based enterprise mobility as a service offering that allows workers to progress quickly and securely access their corporate networks, while making it easier for IT administrators to manage a force of Global mobile work. The new offering combines a physical security assessment and penetration testing, training on safety and an assessment of logical security technologies such as smart cards and biometric readers to evaluate and strengthen the position of a global security organization.

New area-wide management capabilities of network performance with Riverbed Technology offers companies around the world to share videos more effectively, Web and other key business applications across multiple locations and new professional consulting services that help enterprise application acceleration solutions tailored to help boost your business performance.

A set of consulting services designed to help enterprise customers worldwide and plan of implementation of effective strategies for the construction, consolidation and outsourcing of data centers.

The new IP capabilities to support the adoption of unified communications and collaboration, including: IP audio conferencing for conducting instant meetings; VoIP IP Routing Management (Viper), which removes per-minute charges for calls when calls are made between the VIPER clients, and centralized multi-site designs for customers of Verizon Hosted IP Centrex in Europe added to calls through a central hub location connected to Verizon’s expansive global IP network.

A new Global Fixed Mobile Convergence service that can significantly reduce roaming charges for mobile European workers who make and receive calls outside their local service area. The service also offers a universal telephone number with “find me / follow me” capabilities to immediately reach employees on a fixed or mobile phone.

A new comprehensive security assessment and certification program for mid-sized companies. Verizon Security Management Program proactively protects organizations against security threats by leveraging a set of best practices for evaluating the position of a security company. It recommends ways to improve safety cost-effectively and facilitates compliance with industry regulations.

Expanded focus on vertical industries

Verizon continued to focus increasingly on key vertical markets during the quarter, including the deployment of new capabilities that include:

Network Expansion Verizon Financial Services – dedicated infrastructure company trading-business – customers in Europe. VFSN is a scalable, secure and low latency that is designed to facilitate investment and exchange of information in global capital markets.

A set of data discovery, identification and classification of security consulting services designed to help healthcare providers securely sharing electronic patient information. DDISC discovers, identifies and classifies the personal health information – as noted by the doctor, x-rays, and insurance information and payment – to determine if you are being treated properly, safely and shared electronically.

Leadership Network and Global Expansion

Verizon Business continues to invest in its global network leader, who is based network computing platform integrated solutions essential to the company. the evolution of the network during the quarter were:

Adding a second data center in Hong Kong, which will increase the cloud of the company and data center services in the region and provide direct access to its worldwide network. The company also significantly expanded the capacity at its other global data centers.

Installation of 18 additional Private IP edge routers A total of 781 edge routers in 221 sites across 60 countries. This included six new cities – Winnipeg, Canada; Glasgow, Scotland, Krakow, Poland, Rome, Italy, San José, Costa Rica, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Private IP reaching 130 countries with the addition of Costa Rica.

Add four new converged packet switches Architecture in Tel Aviv, Israel; Rotterdam, Holland, Winnipeg, Canada, and San Jose, Costa Rica. This brings the total number of CPA changes to 146 from 129 sites in 35 countries.

Complete a field study carrying 100 Ethernet traffic from a gigabit per second in a metro Ethernet infrastructure. Using Alcatel-Lucent equipment deployed in the Ethernet switching network of Verizon Services, the successful test of data transmission through 12.7 km (7.9 miles) of fiber network field in the Dallas area company .
