National Fruitcake Day, Today is National Fruitcake Day. Now they’re usually given as a joke gift, but maybe we can bring back the 50′s tradition without recreating your grandmother’s dish? Alton Brown’s Free Range Fruitcake recipe may be the answer.

Monkey business: English naturalist Charles Darwin began his voyage to the Pacific Ocean in 1831. The voyage may have lasted five years, but the discoveries during the voyage helped him form the basis of his theories on evolution.
