National Clown WeekNational Clown Week, If you know someone who speaks of a meeting of group of clowns on the street this week, may not be understood as an insult.

Local clowns clowns Idaho Gem gathered at the Idaho Capitol Monday afternoon to receive a proclamation from Gov. CL “Butch” Otter, who declared this week National Clown Week. Otter was out of the office, but an aide delivered the announcement and gave a touch of “fairy dust” as payment.

From there, clowns strutted to City Hall, where Councillor Elaine Clegg made a brief speech in the same direction and gave the gem Jesters a proclamation signed by Mayor Dave Bieter Boise.

Clowns encouraged and invited pedestrians to join them for bowling.

“Uh, sorry.’d Love to, but I can not,” said a man ran past them to his departure from City Hall.

On Thursday, the clowns are shovel-navigation. You are invited. Clown Week is now officially upon us.
