NASCAR’s Busch & Divorce, Kurt Busch on Thursday entered the media center and wanted to set the record straight about her personal life, saying he is going through a divorce and hope that everyone respects their privacy in a personal matter.
“While [Busch and his wife, Eva] are no longer together and are legally separated, we appreciate the privacy in this situation,” said Busch. “All I want to say about this is that we go through the process of ending our marriage, but we are doing with respect for others and we will always be friends.”
A report released this week discussed the marital status of Busch in public for the first time, two days after his victory at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California
“When you win, people want to come down,” Busch said. “While drivers sometimes have a beef with some members of the media, the vast majority are hardworking and responsible people trying to do their job the best way possible. I realize that I am an entity, but I am also a person “.
Busch asked if their personal situation has affected his performance on the track this season. He ranks fourth in the Sprint Cup qualifying with nine top 10 in 16 races but has also shown moments of anger on the team radio when he was not happy with his car.
“Many things are happening on a personal level,” said Busch. “But our performance on the track is the best way to put all that aside.”
