Nascar Qualifying Results, Jeff Gordon and his No. 24 Drive to End Hunger / AARP Chevrolet won the Coors Light Pole Award for the 42 Th Annual Aaron’s 499 with a lap of 53,723 seconds, 178,248 mph. This is Gordon’s 70th pole in 625 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, which exceeds Cale Yarborough for third on the list of all-time pole winners. This is also the first pole of Gordon and third top-10 start in 2011 and his second pole in 37 races at Talladega Superspeedway.

Also in the first row are Jimmie Johnson and his No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet posted his third top-10 early in 2011 and 13 in 19 races at Talladega Superspeedway.

Starting third, Mark Martin and No. 5 CARQUEST / Chevrolet won its 22nd among the 10 start at Talladega Superspeedway. It is his fourth in eight races this season.

Fan favorite Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his No. 88 National Guard / AMP Energy Chevrolet fourth start.

Surprisingly, Hendrick Motorsports has become the third team in the history of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car scored four in the first four starting positions (Pete DePaolo 1956 – Charlotte, Jack Roush 2005 – Auto Club).

Paul Menard and the No. 27 Schrock / Menards Chevrolet will start fifth.

Andy Lally was the fastest qualifying rookie, who will start 37.

Overall, 46 entries in the NASCAR Sprint Cup attempt to qualify for Sunday’s race.
