Nadia Bloom Found Alive:WINTER SPRINGS, Florida (CBS / AP family) Nadia King James Bloom is hailing as a hero, after he found the girl of 11 years of age in a remote part of a Florida swamp near his home in Orlando, four days after his disappearance.
King, who is a member of the church in Bloom, says he found the child on the shore of the lake near Jesup. I immediately noticed that I was thirsty and covered with mosquito bites.
King said that when he saw Nadia, immediately sent his wife a text saying: “I found that it is safe in my arms.”
Authorities said they had to use machetes to get to the missing child in the woods and thick brush isolated. Once the paramedics arrived she put on a stretcher and began carrying the girl to pass from person to person.
Nadia Bloom suffers from an autism-related syndrome called Asperger’s. Authorities are not sure how he survived four days in the crocodile-infested swamp.
Nadia’s father said that when he received the news that her daughter was sure he was overjoyed.
“I just burst … and ran to tell my wife,” Bloom told reporters at a news conference Tuesday.
