Mummers Parade 2011

Mummers Parade 2011, Teresa Bryson, 19, a resident of the Township of Antrim and the 2010 Pennsylvania Honey Queen, will compete for the title American Honey Queen the first week of January in Galveston, Texas. Bryson is the daughter of Tom and Linda Bryson. She is a graduate school at home and attends Hagerstown Community College with a double major in criminal justice and English. Bryson is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, National Honor Society. She was a member of 4-H for 10 years and is a leader of volunteers. Thirty students from Springfield Middle School in Williamsport, Md., were accepted in the invitation 2011 Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta, Georgia, January 14, 15 and 16.

The students, aged 11-14, will present Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” to arbitration. Junior Theater Festival is the biggest festival in the world of musical theater dedicated to working with students of primary and secondary schools and is presented by Music Theatre International and produced by iTheatrics and Theater of the Stars in Atlanta. The festival 2011 at Cobb Galleria Centre will bring together over 1,800 students, teachers and professionals from Broadway to raise their voices to celebrate on stage and backstage excellence in musical theater. Springfield Middle School will present the entire production of “Beauty and the Beast” with a cast and crew of 75 students at Williamsport in the spring.

The members of the class drama Springfield Middle School have received tremendous support from teachers, parents and community members. In addition to participating in trade shows preview, the community has shown enthusiasm for the efforts of students participating in the cookie dough and sales of many candles. Volunteers also helped young artists design and decorate a float that was entered in the Parade of Alsace Mummer Club Day. It was the first school in the competition – competing with high schools, colleges and adults – and their tank received third place for Best School Float and third place for the organized body.

Springfield Middle class drama school attended the 2010 Junior Theatre Festival and won a national “Freddie G outstanding students directed and choreographed” price for students and administrators Hailey Bricker Wolford Hope for the group’s performance of selections from Disney” High School Musical “. Drama lessons Springfield Middle School is the only middle school in the county of Washington with a program that supports practical experience of the theater. The Waynesboro Area Civitan Club launched three members at its business meeting in December at Café velvet. Greg Henry, Holly Royer and Thomas Smith were initiated as members of the Chesapeake District of New Clubs and President Robert Shaffer received their certificates of the founding members of the charter president Mike Small.
