Mumford And Sons, (UKPA) – The producer behind hit album Mumford & Sons, who is currently working on the next version of Coldplay, has won a top prize at the Brit.

Dravs Marcus – who also shaped by Arcade Fire album The Suburbs – was named producer of the year to come to the ceremony next week’s Brit.

He was presented with his prize to Coldplay singer Chris Martin during a demonstration in London’s Cafe De Paris

Dravs was nominated for her role on the Mercury nominated album Mumford Sigh No More, and his work with Canadian law on Arcade Fire.

Unlike most other winners, the prize for best producer is announced ahead of the British, held at the O2 Arena on Tuesday.

Other winners tonight at the annual Music Producers Guild Awards were Mute Records founder Daniel Miller – who had his own recording career than normal – which won the outstanding contribution.

And famous American producer Tony Visconti, known for his work with Marc Bolan and T. Rex, David Bowie and Morrissey, was honored for its innovation with the price Joe Meek.
