Mumford And Sons, Mumford & Sons is a group of English folk rock. Bluegrass and British indie-folk band was nominated for best new artist and best rock song of Little Lion Man. The band’s debut album, Sigh No More, was published in the United Kingdom in October 2009 and February 2010 in the United States.
Last night, Mumford & Sons rocked the Grammys with Bob Dylan. (AP) – Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy gala was an evening that included a moving tribute to Cher and sassy, sizzling performances from the likes of Mumford & Sons, Cee Lo Green and Jennifer Hudson, and the typical picture of superstars dazzling presence.
But the moments that generate the most buzz came from Whitney Houston and R. Kelly both gave performances that bordered on bizarre, with two completely different results.
Kelly owned the evening with an electrifying set that had stars from Akon to “Glee” star Jane Lynch on their feet as he sang his retro hit “When a woman loves,” and also fumbled through his rich catalog hits including songs from “Step In The Name of Love” to “Your Body’s Calling.” His started his mini special concert with the odd choice of the national anthem, so soulfully rendered, and in another surprising moment, teased a bit of “Price Is Right” theme.
But Kelly had the crowd riveted A-list as he ran through his own classics, when he finished his set with his soaring “When a woman loves,” he received a standing ovation.
Whitney Houston, singer last night, also got a response that respects the audience, as she came on stage, looking stunning in a dress with silver spangles.
But her voice both majestic, although sometimes showing flashes of her brilliance old looked tired and hoarse as she crunched through a tribute to her cousin, the famous song, Dionne Warwick.
“I did not have to seek the” American Idol “because it was in my house,” said Houston of the classical performer.
For a few moments, as she memory performance of “Alfie,” it seemed to veer the plane repeatedly, winding on the scene. In the final she made her report on the legendary stage and they both sang Warwick “That’s what friends are for.”
