MSFT, Analysts had expected Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) [Figure - Analysis - News] profits come from AT $ 0.55 per share for the fourth quarter, but exceeded expectations with the actual income MSFT and 0.62 cents — 7 above the consensus estimate.

Today’s announcement shows that MSFT has made some improvements year after year. This quarter’s gain of 0.62 per share, compared with a gain of 0.4 per share for the same quarter a year ago is a positive sign for the company.

We’ll have to see if this helps positive announcement stock price of MSFT in the short term. MSFT has gained 0.07 percent last month and is now below its 200 day moving average.

MSFT is a part of the application software industry — along with stocks like Oracle Corp. (ORCL) [Figure - Analysis - News] and SAP AG (SAP) [Figure - Analysis - News]. Over the next five years,anlysts expect earnings per share (EPS) growth rate of industry 13.5 percent. If one compares the rate projected EPS growth MSFT 12 percent of the industry, you can see thatanlysts expect MSFT performance below the industry in the future by 1.74 percent.

Analysts also believe ORCL earnings will grow at a rate of 14.08 percent while SAP’s revenues will grow at a rate of 12.23 percent. ORCL has gained 0.08 percent last month and is currently above its 200 day moving average. SAP has acquired 0.04 percent last month and is currently above its 200 day moving average.
