Most Famous Redhead, The 100th anniversary of Lucille Ball’s birth, Aug. 6, 2011, is a big deal in her hometown of Jamestown, N.Y. Its annual Lucille Ball Festival of Comedy, Aug. 3-7, offers lots of events and appearances by comedians. Joan Rivers is the headline attraction.

•Joan Rivers, 8 p.m. Aug. 4

•Comedian Paula Poundstone, 8 p.m. Aug. 6

•Standup Comedy Showcase, 8 p.m. Aug. 5

•Nation’s best impersonators of Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel, at lunch and dinner shows in a re-creation of the Tropicana Room, Ricky’s Manhattan nightclub, Desilu Playhouse, Aug. 4-6

•Parade and historical re-enactment of Lucy and Desi’s visit to Jamestown for the premiere of their 1956 movie “Forever, Darling,” 6:30 p.m. Aug. 5

•Party on the Plaza: Comedy, music, crafts, food and drink, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Aug. 5 and 6

•Late Night Comedy, The Tropicana Room, Desilu Playhouse, 10:30 p.m. Aug. 5 and 6

•Live radio show performance of “My Favorite Husband” (the forerunner of TV’s “I Love Lucy”) and another called “I Love Lucy: The Untold Story,” which is written and will be directed by Gregg Oppenheimer, son of “I Love Lucy” creator Jess Oppenheimer, 3 p.m. Aug. 6

•Lucy Lake View Cemetery Tours on horse-drawn trolleys, Aug.3-6

•Lucy Town Bus Tours, Aug. 3-6
