Morty Coyle, While diehard fans continue to speculate on director Christopher Nolan “The Dark Knight stands up,” filmmakers confirmed Wednesday that two main roles were cast.

“Love & Other Drugs” star Anne Hathaway will suit up as Selina Kyle / Catwoman in the highly anticipated third installment Nolan franchise, Warner Bros. announced. Tom Hardy (“Creation”), which has been linked to the film for a few months now, will be in bulk as Bane, the muscular monster who becomes known as “the man who broke the bat” after overflow Batman and left him paralyzed. Christian Bale returns to the franchise as Bruce Wayne / Batman.

Nolan said that it would be his last “Batman” movie. Ann Arbor native David S. Goyer (“Blade”) developed the story of the film with Nolan and his brother Jonathan Nolan.

Oscar-winning actor George Clooney was in town Wednesday to make a pre-production work for “The Ides of March,” Free Press reports film writer Julie Hinds.

Clooney is the star, director and co-writer of the project, which is based on the play “Farragut North” and involves a campaign for the Democratic nomination for president. Shot in southern Michigan is expected to begin in March.

Clooney visited the offices of the interior of Detroit, a nonprofit organization that promotes the city through education. The group of downtown Detroit site is considered a possible location.

While he was there, he examined the outlets at the reception center of the group. “He looked at the merchandise in the store and said he wanted to buy something,” said Maureen Kearns, director of Inside Detroit.

Clooney was interviewed by Detroit MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” broadcast on Wednesday, but he talked about his work to promote peace in Sudan, not the movie.
