Morgan Freeman Demille Award

Morgan Freeman Demille Award, Morgan Freeman will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes.

The AP reports that Freeman will become the latest recipient of the DeMille Award — the Golden Globes’ lifetime achivement award. The ceremony will be held on January 15.

DeMille Award winners are chosen by the board of directors for the foreign press group, which includes about 90 reporters who cover Hollywood for overseas outlets.

Freeman, 74, is a five-time Oscar nominee. He won Best Supporting Actor in 2004. Freeman is known for his roles in “Million Dollar Baby,” “Bruce Almighty” and the latest “Batman” franchise.

Freeman joins the ranks of DeMille recipients, including Shirley MacLaine, Robert De Niro and Steven Spielberg.

The award is named after legendary Hollywood director Cecil B. DeMille.
