Modern Warfare 3 Paris Tear Gas Heist, Thousands of copies of Modern Warfare 3 have been stolen in an armed robbery in Paris. Two masked men armed with tear gas and knives stole a truck containing €400,000 (£342,000) worth of video games, believed to be around 6,000 copies of the latest Call of Duty title, according to TF1 (via Eurogamer).

At 8am on November 6, the van carrying the games crashed into a car. As the men driving the van left the scene to call emergency services, they were ambushed with tear gas before the cargo was stolen and driven away.

It is believed that copies of the game have since appeared across online marketplace eBay.

Earlier this month, pirated copies of Modern Warfare 3 appeared online after a leak at a distribution warehouse.

Microsoft has since warned that early players of Modern Warfare 3 face bans on Xbox Live.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will release for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on November 8 worldwide.
