Missouri Earthquake

Missouri EarthquakeMissouri Earthquake, A light earthquake rattled parts of Missouri and southern Illinois Tuesday morning.

The United States Geological Survey says the magnitude 4.2 earthquake was centered about 14 miles east of Sullivan in Franklin County. Sullivan is about 50 miles southwest of San Luis.

The earthquake, which was 3.2 miles deep, hit about 3:10 am Tuesday.

The USGS said the quake was felt as far west as Columbia, Missouri, and as Far East as Carbondale, Illinois

KSDK reports that the Office of the Franklin County Sheriff has received several calls about the quake but no reports of damage or injuries. The Sullivan Police Department also reported several calls but no reports of damage.

The Kirkwood Police Department says what I have at least a half dozen calls from people who say that the earth shook.
