Since 2003, Miss World has been with fast-track events in the preliminary round of the competition, which give a little boost to some of the contestants, when the semi-finalists are chosen on the night of coronation.
In these fast track events of the 20 participants are chosen by category, as “Unangan Hirit,” the November 4, Ruais did three in the Top 20 of the following categories: Beach Beauty (2003-present) , Beauty with a Purpose (2005-present), and Top Model (2004, but not out in 2005-2006).
The category is a competition Beauty Beach Swimsuit and Top Model is, of course, an inclination of modeling, while the Beauty with a Purpose (formerly known as Miss World Scholarship) awards the contestant with the most common project important and relevant in her country.
While fast-track other categories have been introduced since then, namely the People’s Choice (2003), Personality (2003) and the choice of the contestant (2004), the other categories are only competed for this year are Miss Talented ( 2003-present), Miss Sport (2003-present).
Ruais join in the Top 20 qualifiers are Miss Beach Beauty Bolivia Johanna Guzman, Miss Brazil Juceila Well, Miss England Alize Mounter, Tania Bambaci Miss Italia, Miss Korea Kyung Perez, Miss Kazakhstan Zhanna Zhumaliyeva, Miss Martinique Axelle Perrier, Miss New Zealand Mainetes Broekman, Nicole Vera Miss Paraguay, Miss Finola Ginname Northern Ireland.
The others did in the Beauty category were Miss Puerto Rico Beach Amanda Perez, Natalia Nantigurova Miss Russia, Miss Serbia Milica Tepavac, Carla Garcia Barber Miss Spain, Miss St. Bartholomew Johanna Sansano, Nicoline Artursso Miss Sweden, Miss Ukraine Iaroslav Kuriacha, Miss Venezuela and Miss Malaika Ivian Mshandu Sarcos Zimbabwe.
While Ruais are divided into three categories of fast track, other Miss World contestants with Filipino blood unfortunately did not fare so well in the kind of beauty Beach. They were former “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity 2″ contestant Riza Santos edition of Canada and Denmark Olesen Celeste Maya.
Ruais should be lucky enough to bag the crown, she will be the first Filipino to hold the title in 60 years of history of the competition.
The Miss World 2011 coronation night will be held November 6 (UK time) at Earls Court, London.
