Miss Louisiana 2011

News-Star Monroe Anderson reported that he received the honor Saturday night at the 48th annual Miss Louisiana in the WL “Jack” Howard Theatre in Monroe. She wore a red dress that greeted the crowd that was crowned by the predecessor of Kelsi Crain and received a white band.
The Anderson 22 years old, graduated in December from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and former Miss Monroe. She entered the Miss as the Spirit of Ruston.
The first runner up was Miss Lafayette Carley McCord. She was followed by Miss Andrea Sonnier Capital, Miss Dixie vacation Mallory Cox and Miss Monroe Lauren Vizze.
Anderson won the preliminary competition for fitness and evening gown Friday night and performed a dance as her talent. She will represent the state in the Miss America.
This was the fourth year of Anderson competing in the contest. She had made the Top 10 every time, but never won. She said the honor was special because “I really wanted this job for a long time and have to pay is unlike anything I’ve ever felt.”
