Minaj & School Principal, Keeping kids in schools these days is a challenge, to the tune of 1.2 million students who leave school each year, according to the White House. However, incentives can change everything. Just ask nonprofit Get Educated, which launched its own challenge this spring – Get Motivated Challenge – a six-week competition among 25 high schools across the country to improve daily attendance with sweet prizes at stake. Not only the dictionary of the Academy High School in Chicago – the winner – received three and 10 000 college scholarships for top students, the school also received a surprise visit from a major superstar and graduate high school on Thursday.
