Arizona: Infielder John McDonald came to an agreement over a period of two years, and 3 million contract to stay with the Diamondbacks.
Los Angeles: The process of finding a new Dodgers owner Frank McCourt, began when Major League Baseball issued a joint statement saying they had agreed to court-supervised sale of the franchise once glamorous and now bankrupt. While the sides hope for a quick agreement, McCourt giving the money to pay his divorce settlement in April, sales of MLB may continue for six months to more than one year. Once the bidders are identified, the court may conduct an auction. The sale price of the rights of the team, stadium and television land: and a billion or more. The price will probably break the record for a baseball franchise, surpassing the 845 million paid by the Ricketts family for the Cubs in 2009. Co-owner Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban, and Pittsburgh Penguins owner Ron Burkle co-have been mentioned as possibilities. Asian investors have been investigated. The former agent Dennis Gilbert, a friend of White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf, will bring together a group.
