Michael Vick & Nike, Michael Vick and Nike Inc. is a new team as the quarterback in the National Football League has signed a sponsorship deal with sportswear provider after a 2007 dog fighting scandal put him behind bars.
“We have re-signed Michael Vick as a Nike athlete,” Nike said in a statement. “Michael acknowledges its past mistakes. We do not condone the actions, but also support the positive changes he has made himself better on the court.”
No other details were released about the deal. This is the third endorsement agreement Mr. Vick has signed after his return to football two seasons ago. The scandal led to Nike and other sponsors like Coca-Cola Co. to drop it. Technology inequality and core synergy Mr. Vick signed late last year and March, respectively.
Mr. Vick has himself been the restoration of the NFL after his jail sentence. He signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009 as a backup quarterback. He became the quarterback last season and put up the best marks in career passing numbers.
The announcement follows the news this week that Tiger Woods, another scandal-bitten-sport star has signed a sponsorship agreement with Kowa Co. based in Japan to rub heating market is used to relieve muscle aches and joints.
