Michael Stern Kansas City Symphony, A New York accountant pleaded guilty Thursday to stealing $75,000 from Michael Stern, music director of the Kansas City Symphony, who had hired him to prepare his tax returns in 2007.

The defendant, Joseph Cilibrasi, also pleaded guilty to stealing more than $1.4 million from actress Tamara Tunie, who had hired him as her business agent. Tunie portrays the medical examiner on NBC’s Law & Order: SVU.

Cilibrasi, 51, pleaded guilty to charges of grand larceny and faces a sentence ranging from two-and-a-half to seven-and-a-half years in prison, according to the New York County District Attorney’s Office. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 4. Stern could not be reached for comment Thursday.
