Meteor In Texas

February 2, 2012 by staff

Meteor In Texas, UFO conspiracy theorists may have thought a space alien invasion was striking the Lone Star state on Wednesday evening, but it turns out that it was just a meteor. The Federal Aviation Administration announced a bright, streaking light observed in the skies over parts of Texas and Oklahoma was a meteor.

According to the Houston Chronicle, “FAA spokesman Lynn Lunsford said late Wednesday the agency had received reports from people who saw the object about 8 p.m. as far north as Oklahoma City and as far south as Houston.”

Lunsford disclosed that officials from the FAA understood it wasn’t an airplane that people were witnessing and hence a meteor seemed to be the most likely candidate.
