Mendenhall Bin Laden

May 3, 2011 by staff

Mendenhall Bin Laden, Pittsburgh Steelers, team president Art Rooney II on Tuesday expressed dismay at a series of tweets by RB Rashard Mendenall on the death of Osama bin Laden.

Mendenhall, 23, questioned the conclusion about the death of Bin Laden in tweets on Monday afternoon. He also seemed to question the justification of why the World Trade Center fell.

His comments in Twitter:

“What kind of person who celebrates the death?” It’s amazing how people can hate a man you have never even heard of. We’ve only heard one side …

“@ Dkeller23 never knows what really happened. I have a hard time believing that a plane might have a style skyscraper demolition

“I believe in God. I think we are all children. And I think he is the one and only judge.

“Those who judge others will also be judged themselves.

“For those of you who said that Bin Laden wants to see burn in hell and piss on his ashes, I wonder how God feels about your heart?

“There is an ignorant bone in my body. I encourage # think”

Rooney tried to put distance between the equipment and Mendenhall comment Tuesday morning.

He said in a statement:

“I have not talked to Rashard so it is difficult to explain or even understand what he meant by his recent comments on Twitter. The organization of the Steelers, all ‘is very proud of the work of our military personnel have made and we can only hope this leads to our troops home soon. ”

No contact between the Steelers and Mendenhall is currently allowed due to the closure of the NFL.

Many athletes expressed views on the death of Bin Laden, but most were supportive of the role of U.S. troops in action or respect of the 3,000 people who died in the September 11, 2001 attacks.
