MEN IN BLACK 3, Tony nominee Michael Stuhlbarg has joined the cast of the new sci-fi comedy in 3-D, Men in Black, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, which is being directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, is scheduled for May 2012 release. Will Smith. Josh Brolin, and Eva Alice head the cast.

Stuhlbarg received a Tony Award nomination and a Drama Desk Award for The Pillowman, and numerous Off-Broadway credits include the lead role in the Public Theater production of the Property. He is currently a co-star in HBO’s Empire Airport.

Michael Stuhlbarg, one of the key players in the Boardwalk Empire HBO and star of the Coen Brothers’ A Serious Man, was launched in Men in Black 3.

Will Smith and Josh Brolin star in the third installment of the sci-fi comedy directed by Barry Sonnenfeld Columbia and currently in production. The 3D film is scheduled for May 25, 2012 release.

The study does not reveal many details about the film, although it is known to have an element of time travel, allowing Brolin to play a young Tommy Lee Jones and Alice Eve, a young Emma Thompson, as MIB agents treat save the world in 1969.

Stuhlbarg will play a character named “Griffin.” Copley Circle Sharlto paper last year, but the deal never materialized.

The actor, repped by ICM and shows Vikings, plays the gangster Arnold Rothstein Boardwalk Empire. Brian Selznick will next see him on the big screen of Hugo Cabret, Martin Scorsese’s adaptation of the children’s book.
