Mel Gibson DivorceMel Gibson Divorce, A lawyer for the wife of actor ‘The Beaver’, 28 – who began divorce proceedings in 2009, citing “irreconcilable differences” – appeared before a judge this morning (06/28/11) to say they had reached complete agreement, including division of property.
The couple – who has six sons and a daughter together – was married in 1980 and apparently did not have a marriage contract before or after, that is, all assets accumulated during marriage are divided equally under the law of California.

Divorce lawyer Stacy Phillips said in 2009: “All income earned or assets acquired during marriage is considered community property.”

Although no details of the agreement have been released, Mel was estimated at 900 million and in 2006, and owns at least three properties in Malibu, California – said to be worth over 16 million and combined – an island Fiji and a ranch in Costa Rica.

Mel has also acted in 40 films and has been a successful director, directing blockbusters like ‘Braveheart’, ‘The Passion’ and ‘Apocalypto’.

Lawyers for both sides are drafting the final documents in the case and the trial is expected to be introduced in late August, the official divorce.

Meanwhile, Mel is also in court with his ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, locked in a battle over the custody arrangements of their two-year-old daughter, Lucia.
