Mediterranean Diet, Just in time for anyone else to focus on next holiday weight gain, a new list of”best diets “is out. However, this list is focused not only on the diets that help you lose weight, but diets to help you stay healthy while losing many kilos.
Five diets obtained better calificaci?n””para healthy eating from a panel of experts convened by the U.S. News & World Report. These include the DASH diet (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension), TLC (therapeutic lifestyle changes), the Mediterranean diet, the diet of the Mayo Clinic, and the volumetrics diet.
Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig and Nutrisystem, among others, also has a high score but failed to score de”mejor”para a healthy diet.
At the bottom of the list, getting much lower marks are the Paleo diet, raw food diet, and Atkins.
A panel of 22 nutrition experts gathered by the U.S. News & World Report subsistence allowance rate.
“The purpose of this ranking is to help dieters lose weight safely,” says Andrea Giancoli, RD, MPH, Los Angeles dietitian and member of the panel. “Those who towards the end of the list are less nutritionally complete.”
Experts popular diets rated 20 on a scale of 1 to 5 – 5 being the best. For classification, focused on nutrition and safety, Giancoli tells WebMD. Previous classifications have considered the weight loss benefits of heart health, and ease of compliance.
In this case, the scores of the five best and why these diets received a better grade:
DASH diet, 4.8. Backed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, DASH is designed to prevent high blood pressure. It is strong in production and low in saturated fat and salt.
TLC Diet 4.7. National Institutes of Health developed this plan. It is high in fiber and calcium and low in saturated fat.
Mediterranean diet, 4.6. This meal plan includes plenty of whole grains, fruits and vegetables, salmon y”coraz?n”healthy fats like olive oil. Red wine in moderation is recommended.
Mayo Clinic diet, 4.5. The plan developed by experts at the Mayo Clinic includes foods with low energy density, such as fruits and vegetables. Allows dieters to eat more, while eating fewer calories.
Volumetrics diet, 4.5. Another plan is based on low dietary energy density, volume focuses on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lowfat dairy and lean meats.
Other diets and their results:
Weight Watchers, 4.4. Under the new Weight Watchers plan, dieters can eat fresh fruits and vegetables without using your points daily plus the premium. Attention also focuses on whole grains, lowfat dairy and lean protein.
The Jenny Craig diet, 4.3. Experts called this plan”cient?ficamente solid and safe. “It focuses on fiber and calcium, adequate amounts of fats, proteins and carbohydrates.
Ornish diet, 4.1. Developed by Dean Ornish, MD, the focus of food in groups of 1-3 is found in fish, plants and whole grains. It was considered sound. Experts warn dieters to limit grupo”5 “food for saturated fat.
Vegetarian diet, 4. Experts warn that a vegetarian diet is not necessarily a healthy diet. He found a vegetarian menu adapted from U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines to be nutritious and safe. The menu includes foods like buckwheat pancakes and vegetable soup.
Nutrisystem diet, 3.9. The plan has pre-packaged meals and recommended as a complement to the fresh produce, dairy fat, and protein foods. The panel calls usually safe and nutritious. But they wonder about the adequacy of potassium, vitamins B-12, and D.
With a glycemic index diet, 3.5. The plan ranks carbohydrate foods based on how quickly they raise blood sugar. The theory is that low GI foods are absorbed more slowly, keeping people more complete. The full llama”razonablemente plan. ”
SlimFast diet, 3.5. The diet has two shakes or bars, three snacks and homemade food. It provides only 1,200 calories a day, a critique by the panel. Because it includes a home cooked meal every day, and are enriched products, the panel majority llam?”la nutritious and safe. ”
Zone diet, 3.5. Experts concerned about a possible lack carbohydrates, fiber, potassium, calcium and vitamin D.
South Beach Diet, 3.3. Experts call this plan of heavy grease in phase 1 low carb phases 1 and 2, where low potassium.
Eco-Atkins Diet, 3.1. This review focuses more on Atkins protein from plant foods. Better than traditional Atkins, the panel says, but too heavy in fat and low in carbohydrates.
Medifast Diet 3.0. The experts gave it un”moderado “tag, as 800 to 1,000 calories a day. That’s too low for many, they say.
The vegan diet, 3.0. While vegans can eat healthy, you have to work, the panel says. Dieters should focus on the essential nutrients like calcium, vitamins D and B-12, zinc and iron.
Paleo Diet, 2.2. Whole groups of foods such as dairy and grains are excluded.
Raw food diet, 2.1. The plan may skimp on calories, calcium and vitamins B-12 and D. The risk of food poisoning from raw foods is a concern.
The Atkins diet, 2.0. Excess fat carbohydrates, very few, experts say.
