Mcdonalds RecallMcdonalds Recall:We recently heard that McDonald’s has voluntarily recalled 12 million glasses of Shrek, these glasses are painted with characters from Shrek and the Donkey, Shrek, Princess Fiona and Puss in Boots, but the paint used contains excessive amounts of a chemical element damaging called cadmium.

cadmium poisoning is a well known risk in the process industry many, the real risk is associated with inhalation of fumes containing cadmium, however this is not a risk to recall the spectacle of McDonald’s are just reporting a small amount of toxin in glass painting, which experts believe could cause kidney damage possible.

It’s good that McDonald’s has recalled the vessels, however, the real question is whether more must be done before such products are available for this wide range of consumers, lets face it this is not the first time that a toy from McDonald’s / gift has been considered a danger to the public (mainly children).

I personally believe that the withdrawal of products are becoming more and more frequent, therefore, these products go through more testing and investigation before being released?

I think it would be in everyone’s interest, if an independent safety inspection took place before the products of this nature become mainstream, it is obvious that the measures in place at the time was not up to standard.
