Matthew Morrison

Matthew Morrison,NBC shut the “Glee” cast out of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade this year, but they couldn’t keep them out of the Golden Globe competition. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association put the new Fox hit TV show on top of the nominations list with four nods, more than any other show.

“Glee” got the nod for best series, best actor (Matthew Morrison), best actress (Lea Michele), and best supporting actress (Jane Lynch) — all in the comedy or musical category.

They’re up against some tough competition. “Glee” is competing with two NBC shows that dominate the Emmys — NBC’s “30 Rock” and “The Office” — as well as HBO’s “Entourage” and ABC’s new “Modern Family.”

The actors are pitted against some heavy hitters: Morrison faces off with Alec Baldwin, Steve Carell, David Duchovny, and Thomas Jane; Michele is up against Toni Collette, Edie Falco, Tina Fey; and Lynch is competing with Jane Adams, Rose Byrne, Janet McTeer, and Chloe Sevigny.
