Martha Stewart Show Cancelled
January 5, 2012 by staff
The show, which had previously aired in syndication, was picked up by Hallmark in September 2010 as part of a larger deal that turned over most of the cable network’s daytime schedule to shows from Stewart’s production company. But the costs of producing a daily live series proved too steep given the show’s small audience of about 200,000 viewers, the same total that Rosie O’Donnell’s new show is averaging on OWN.
The Martha Stewart Show will wrap up in May and air in repeats over the summer.
After that? Her company and Hallmark “are in discussions about potential new programming and concepts for daytime,” they said in a statement. The New York Post first reported news of Stewart’s talk-show demise.
