Marilyn Monroe Dress, Debbie Reynolds became a part of her extensive collection of Hollywood memorabilia up for auction this weekend at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills, and the grand prize, iconic white dress Marilyn Monroe in The Seven Year Itch, sold for a whopping 4.6 million and, according to Los Angeles Times.
The dress was made in one scene of the most famous movies of all time in the air from a subway grate blew her dress, exposing the legs of Monroe. The price far exceeded what Joe Maddalena of SyFy Show Hollywood Treasury had estimated worth, which was 1 million and 3 million y. Reynolds appeared on the show last week and showed her collection of over 5,000 movie costumes and objects as part of preparation for the auction.
“This is probably the world’s most precious suit,” said Magdalena in the program. Monroe Other items also sold a high price. Her red dress gentlemen prefer blondes and sold for 1.2 million, according to CBS.
Debbie Reynolds owns Reynolds Dance Studio in North Hollywood, and also appeared on the show Debbie Reynolds: A night of music and comedy at the El Portal Theatre in 2009.
