Marco Simoncelli Death

The Italian died of chest injuries, head and neck after losing control of his Honda in turn 11 in the fourth minute of the race, and skidded down the runway, directly in the path of American Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi of Italy.
Rossi, a good friend of Simoncelli, was very emotional to say anything.
In Italy, there was a minute of silence before all football games and the players wore black armbands in tribute to the young rider.
“Today is one of the saddest days of my presidency,” said Gianni Petrucci, president of the Italian sport’s governing body CONI. “The tragic death of Marco Simoncelli has deeply upset and shocked me.

Honda teammate Casey Stoner said after the accident he feared for Simoncelli.

Andrea Dovizioso Honda paid tribute to his fellow Italian.

Simoncelli manager, Carlo Pernat, believes that the young have gone to great things.

The Spanish rider Pedrosa Daniel said the accident could remind everyone about the dangers of the sport.
