Manchester Derby, The kick off for lunch today sees Manchester United welcome rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford for the 45th Manchester derby. Alex Ferguson will be without England captain Rio Ferdinand, as he is ruled out with a calf injury, so Chris Smalling will partner Nemanja Vidic in the heart of the defense of America. United have a team in great shape to choose from, with Hernandez being the only absentee as possible while returning home late from international law.

It will be interesting to see what the staff midfielder Ferguson chooses to play, with Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Anderson and Michael Carrick entirely, and in contention for places.

Nigel De Jong is the main concern of injury to Roberto Mancini, as another ankle injury nursing, to Pablo Zabaleta is likely to continue to maintain its role as a midfielder.

Micah Richards is expected to be fit for selection should Mancini recalled defender, while Shaun Wright Philips may be a surprise inclusion in midfield to give the rhythm of the city some extra.

Carloz Tevez was not mid-week for Argentina, and the captain of Manchester City is expected to lead the attack as Manchester City striker, with Balotelli and Dzeko should start on the bench.

(UKPA) – Wayne Rooney’s sensational coup generals 77th minute gave Manchester United the derby spoils with a 2-1 victory over City at Old Trafford.

The Blues had the better of the game, but trailed in the first half of opening Nani.

David Silva deflected effort looked as if she get at least a point until Rooney – put recent disappointments behind him – Nani finished with a whim to leave enough narcotic United eight points clear of their rivals with a game in hand.

A superb header from Wayne Rooney proved decisive as Manchester United FC have strengthened their position atop the Premier League with a 2-1 victory against Manchester City FC.

Acrobatic effort from Rooney (78) Nani Cross right loop came 13 minutes after the visitors equalized in fortuitous fashion when shooting Edin D? Eko went into the back through David Silva. Nani (41) first gave United the lead just before half-time through ball beyond Joe Hart after being released by the passage of Ryan Giggs for the first time.
