Man With Hammer Goes On Mall Rampage, A Dover man charged with smashing several glass cases of different stores inside the Fox Run Mall in Newington on Thursday night was ordered held on bail Friday morning in Exeter District Court.

The Portsmouth Herald reported that Michael Williams, 34 of Dover was charged with seven felonies of criminal mischief and ordered held on $10,000 cash bail. He is being held at the Rockingham County Jail in Brentwood and is due back in court for a probable cause hearing on Dec. 15.

The Union Leader reported that Michael Williams, 34, of Dover, was arrested without incident inside the mall for felony criminal mischief.

The Union Leader reported that the incident began around 4:45 p.m. at Kay Jewelers when Williams smashed several display cases. The newspaper reported that Williams then went to Pandora where he smashed several display cases as store employees screamed and huddled in the back room.

Joe Allen, an employee at the T-Mobile kiosk next to Kay, told the Union Leader that he and several others chased Williams as he smashed display cases at Zales before he ran through the mall and slipped in front of Pretzel Time. Allen told the Union Leader that he and three others surrounded the man as he got up from the spill and reacted wildly.

The Union Leader reported that Allen said Williams then walked over and smashed windows at Sleep Number, Yankee Candle, Motherhood Maternity and The Limited before sitting down on a bench outside Victoria’s Secret and tossing the claw hammer aside.
