September 13, 2011 by USA Post
The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports (http://bit.ly/mPJ8YW) Garrett Bauernschmidt suffered injuries in the index and middle finger of his left hand. He was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center for treatment. His condition was not immediately known.
Man charged police told a large water moccasin was near the front door when Bauernschmidt got his gun and shot the snake. He missed, and trying to manipulate the security for the second chamber, the gun went off. Bauernschmidt only wounded. The snake escaped.
