Man Light Saber 45 Days Jail, A 33-year-old man who had been arrested after striking Toys ‘R’ Us customers with a light saber during the holiday season has received a sentence of jail time for his attack. The incident had occurred around 10 p.m. on Dec. 14 when David Allen Canterbury had assaulted three other customers at a Portland, Ore. Toys ‘R’ Us store.

Police had arrived on the scene and found Canterbury swinging the light saber. He had continued to swing even after one officer used a Taser, making contact.

According to OregonLive, the 33-year-old man pleaded no contest to fourth-degree assault and resisting arrest. He received a sentence of 45-days jail, two years probation and possible mental-health treatment.
KPTV reported Canterbury had initially disappeared after his trial, but was found again this week by officers.
Canterbury told Judge Kenneth Walker he was already seeking mental-health treatment; he also reportedly apologized to his victims for his attack with a light saber. Judge Walker had dismissed other related charges of interfering with a police officer, theft and disorderly conduct. Canterbury has also been banned from the scene of his crime, Toys ‘R’ Us.
