Makar Sankranti

Makar Sankranti, (India) – A number of faithful crowded ghats leading to the city to take holy dip in Ganges on ‘Makar Sankranti”(locally called Khichdi) on Saturday.

Although a number of prominent ghats, including Dasaswamedh, Kedar Ghat, Rajghat, Panchganga ASI and remained filled with the faithful, and charitable donations in the form of new grains and sesame seeds were also present.

Brisk buying traditional foods, including Dhond (preparation of puffed rice mixed in jaggery), tilkut (preparation of sesame seeds) were identified through stalls and shops in different parts of the city while most people also liked khichdi and participated in traditional kite flying to mark the occasion.
