Madonna Stalker Loose, A crazed stalker who scaled a wall at Madonna’s Hollywood Hills home and threatened to slit her throat escaped from a psychiatric hospital a week ago, the Los Angeles Police Department said Friday.
Robert Dewey Hoskins, 54, was convicted in 1996 of stalking the Material Girl after a member of her security staff shot him in the leg when he tried to break into her home. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
At the trial, Madonna testified that her bodyguard told her that Hoskins wanted her to be his wife and said that if “he couldn’t have me, he was going to slice my throat from ear to ear.”
While in prison, he continued to threaten the star from behind bars, prosecutors told the Daily News in 2000.
After his release, Hoskins was transferred to a hospital where he was determined to be “mentally disturbed,” police said in a statement. He was released, but arrested again in 2011 and sent to another mental institution.
Authorities said the creepy stalker walked away from Astascadero State Hospital undetected Feb. 3.
Madonna, at the time, was preparing for her Super Bowl halftime show in Indianapolis. She has been informed Hoskins is on the loose, cops said.
She may not be the only one who could be in danger. TMZ.com reported that Hoskins has also threatened actress Halle Berry, sparking her desire to move to France with daughter, Nahla.
