M5 Fireball Crash, One woman told how to cheat death in the accident M5 fireball that killed at least seven people and wounded 53. Neno Ciara said she was driving with her husband as a “black cloud” descended suddenly on the highway causing a truck in Iceland, in front of them “to literally disappear.”
Mrs Neno described how he managed to stop and prevent the truck before the hearing nasty “shock” after they and other drivers were not so lucky.
She said: “It was honestly the scariest night of my life and we are very lucky to be alive.
“A black cloud came down very, very fast and Iceland’s truck in front of us, literally, disappeared.
“We have to stop and not hit the truck, but the slaughter had begun and we all said it was” blow blow blow and we were waiting to be hit and end up in the truck.
“I have to emergency services and my husband started to drag people from smoking cars.
“The noise and the smell was horrible and there were several explosions of the fireworks seized.
“I can not express how we feel blessed to be able to get through this, too many others were not so lucky.”
Describe the conditions on the stretch of the highway at the time of the accident, Ciara in Weston-Super-Mare told Sky News: “There was a very thick fog bank that rose as fast as it arrived.
“There were fireworks at the time – only music from the rugby club.
“It was horrible to hear that it was common speculation that the fog came after the accident and that driver distraction it caused.
“As we near the start of the crash I can categorically state that this was not the case.”
