LPGA Golfer Dies:Sunday, Erica Blasberg was found dead in Henderson, Nevada home, cause of death was not released. The LPGA golfer 25-year-old was named College Player of the Year Golf Magazine in 2003.
Chase Callahan, Blasberg agent issued this statement, “We’re devastated to learn of the death of Erica Blasberg. For most of the world, Erica was known to be a professional golfer, but more than that.”
Mel Blasberg, Erica’s father told Fox News: “At first sight it seems that might have taken his own life, but at second glance, something that is very, very strange.”
“Erica was a solid player in the field, and brought a new sense of youth, fun, beauty and energy to the brand,” Bob Philion, the president of Cobra Golf Puma said Monday. “She will be sorely missed.”
Golfers over the past decades women have become more prominent. Salt Lake City Sirene Blair is the best young female players in the state, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. The 15-year-old freshman high school Bingham missed a chance to win the trophy Utah State Amateur Women in early May.
