Lord Lucan ‘Seen Drinking In A Bar In Africa’, Lord Lucan, who would be 78 this year, famously disappeared after the murder of his nanny and brutal attack on his wife in 1974.

Speculation has recently mounted that he may have been helped to escape to Africa, after an aide to one of his friends claimed she had arranged for his children to fly to Africa so he could see them from a distance.

And now, new claims have emerged that Lucan was seen in the Cresta Botsalo Hotel in Botswana.

Engineers Lawrie Prebble and Ian Meyrick told the Sun they had seen him drinking beer in the hotel bar 12 years ago.

Mr Prebble, 71, told the newspaper: “There had been talk for weeks that Lucan was around — he had links to Botswana. The instant he walked in I said to myself, ‘That’s him.’
