Loaded Gun Tsa Lax, Despite all the security measures installed additional airport from the 2001 terrorist attacks, federal security at Los Angeles International Airport, LAX, or a loaded gun was lost in a checked bag on Sunday, the Los Angeles Times and other news organizations are reporting.
The 38 caliber pistol, fell from a duffel bag as a loading ramp equipment luggage was on a flight from Alaska Airlines to Portland, Oregon, the Times.
The gun was handed over to police temporarily stopped the gun owner, who took a flight back to Portland.
The weapons are allowed to be in a closed container in checked baggage, but not charged according to the Times.
The screens of the Transportation Security Administration of firearms in hand baggage, but it is their responsibility to do so with the baggage, TSA spokeswoman Lorie Dankers said the news organization.
But the head of a union representing police officers assigned to LAX, said the federal agency must do more.
