Let’s start with Esperanto. Esperanto is a “constructed language” which means it is a language that has been consciously developed as opposed to one that has evolved naturally by regular speech. The name “Esperanto” means “one who hopes.” Esperanto is the most widely used constructed language spoken today.
Ludovic Lazarus Zamenhof lived in an area of Poland which had four ethnic groups: Poles, Germans, Russians and Jews. He was saddened and frustrated by the many quarrels between these groups and felt it was the language differences that caused these quarrels. So he created an “international language” that could be used by all people, to eliminate this division because of language differences. The language he created is called Esperanto.
