Lion City Cup 2011Lion City Cup 2011, Three of the four foreign teams competing in the Lion City Cup Canon have arrived. Along both sides of Singapore, the equipment is ready for one of the oldest soccer tournaments for youth in the world and has begun training in the Singapore Sports School.

Flamengo of Brazil is one of the favorites in the team of six under 15 competitions in the group. The South American is expected to deliver Samba Scocca, are well prepared.

Flamengo coach U-15 team, Celso Martins, said: “[The team] and trained and played in the state tournament in Brazil, so I think the kids (have) a good technique, good tactics, a good time (for them to play). ”

Two other English and foreign teams from Italy, Juventus, who arrive on Saturday, really give the event an international flavor.

English side Newcastle and Everton; the most familiar names to fans in Singapore have to deal with more than their opponents.

Arlen Birch, one of Everton’s central defenders U-15 team, said. “Just trying to get used to the climate, drink plenty of fluids and keep the ball because if we have the ball, opponents are going to work in this heat.”

The heat will be the host of fielding two teams, one of which is the U-16, known for his bronze medal in the Youth Olympic Games 2010.

The coach of the Singapore Under-16 side, Takuma Koga said: “Of course (is) important to win, but it is important to improve yourself (skills) and their teamwork.”

Their younger counterparts, the U-15, are also a force to be reckoned with. The team will start the season on Saturday against Newcastle in the Jalan Besar Stadium.

So far, only 30 percent of the 20,000 tickets offered strange were sold. But organizers are not too concerned, saying the ticket is chosen as the competition progresses.
