Lil Wayne Released From Prison, Lil Wayne was released from Rikers Island in New York prison after serving eight months of his sentence on a charge of firearms.

The rapper was sentenced to one year in prison in March after pleading guilty to attempted possession of a weapon in connection with a firearm found on his tour bus. It was released early for good behavior.

Part of the trouble Lil Wayne has been spent in solitary confinement after being found in possession of a helmet, thus violating prison rules.

Earlier this week, he wrote a letter from his cell to thank people like P Diddy to visit him in prison, saying he “never felt alone” while serving his sentence. Lil Wayne is now said to be returning to Miami.
