Lil Wayne 5 Million Super Bowl Bet, Birdman is looking to make the Super Bowl interesting and called on his fans to ante up over twitter. The Cash Money co-founder said that he was willing to place $5 million on the New England Patriots to beat the Giants on February 5 at Super Bowl XLVI.
The rapper took to twitter on January 23rd to voice his support for the Patriots and announce his sizable bet. “I like New ENGLaNd.my nephew play RB# 42.I’m Bet 5million 2 any ni—-.like tha Giants YMCMB.BabyMoney anybody kan Getit,” wrote Birdman. Even by the rapper’s standards, the bet is massive as it represents nearly 5% of his estimated net worth of around $100 million and one-third of his annual income of $15 million according to calculations that Forbes made last May.
Last year, Birdman put $1 million on his Cash Money compatriot Lil Wayne’s favorite team, the Green Bay Packers, and came out on top. According to Cantor Gaming, the Patriots are a three point favorite, which is down from 2008 when they were a 14-point favorite, so at least Birdman is betting safe.
Birdman won’t be the only one dropping money on the game which could pull in $10 billion in wagers worldwide according to gambling expert R.J. Bell. Bell told the Washington Post that gamblers can expect more expensive bets for the Patriots than what they would see if calculations were made with raw data due to the celebrity of Brady and Belichick.
